Phillip Blackmar
ATTORNEY
BIOGRAPHY
Phillip is an associate attorney at Marsh Atkinson & Brantley. Phillip’s practice focuses on tort claims and trucking and transportation.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Phillip earned his B.A. from Columbus State University. Before attending law school, Phillip spent several years in Asheville, North Carolina, working in warehouses, health care, and recreational trail building, while also volunteering in Asheville’s River Arts District. Phillip’s time in Asheville fostered a strong desire to help others, which was the driving force behind his decision to pursue a juris doctorate.
Phillip earned his J.D. from the Mercer University School of Law. During law school, Phillip served on the executive board of the Environmental Law Society, acted as community outreach chair for the Student Bar Association, and remained an active member of Phi Delta Phi following his induction as a 1L.
As a practitioner, Phillip recognizes that every case is unique. He is committed to meeting the distinct challenges of each matter while building client relationships grounded in candor and trust.
Outside of work, Phillip enjoys spending time with his wife, Carson, their dog, Cobalt, and their cat, Begonia. His hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, running, fly fishing, and photography—one of his photographs has even been licensed by a leading global outdoor brand.
